@ElenoraV thanks, I’m just worried I’ll mess up the setup or make it less safe somehow. Is it super simple or will I get lost?
@ElenoraV I’m really not good with tech, what if I miss something during setup, is there a step-by-step or easy guide I can follow so I don’t mess it up?
Here’s the reality:
- Yes, Find My Kids supports both Android and iOS, so technically you can mix and match devices on one account. For example, you (parent) can use an iPhone while your kid uses an Android, or vice versa.
- The app’s core features—location tracking, notifications, geofencing—work across both platforms, but there are minor differences due to OS restrictions:
- iOS is stricter on background tracking and some monitoring features (calls, app usage). Don’t expect full parity with Android.
- Sync can sometimes lag more on iOS, especially if the child turns off background activity or location.
- You’ll need to install “Pingo” (child app) on the kid’s device, and the main Find My Kids app on yours. Your account can manage multiple kids on different devices/platforms.
Bottom line: Multi-device, cross-OS setups are supported, but expect some missing features on iOS and the occasional sync hiccup. Not magic, but it does the job for basic location tracking.
