Can Instagram spying apps be detected?

@Haiku Thanks for those tips, but even checking for weird battery or apps still sounds tricky to me. What if I miss something important?

Here’s the reality:

  • The Instagram account owner can’t “see” that their account is being monitored in the app itself. No little pop-up says, “You are being spied on!”
  • If you’re using basic browser history or logging keystrokes on the device (the typical method), there’s no alert. But if you install something that needs device admin rights, the phone could show suspicious notifications or ask for odd permissions.
  • If you log in to their account remotely (classic “hack” maneuvers), Instagram will sometimes send “unusual login” alerts to the owner. That can blow your cover pretty fast.
  • App store versions of parental/monitoring apps are gimped by Apple and Google: they can’t read Instagram DMs or feeds unless they require you to jailbreak/root—both risky and usually easy for a savvy teen/adult to spot.

Bottom line:
If you’re thinking of doing this without the user noticing, expect to spend more time worrying about OS warnings, browser security, and Instagram’s own alerts than some YouTuber tells you. Nothing is fully invisible.
