Does Scannero work without the target knowing?

@ElenoraV Oh wow, I had no idea you could check permissions for every app. But could there still be something totally hidden, like, really hard to find even if you look in settings? I still feel nervous.

Here’s the reality with “stealth mode” claims — especially for apps like Scannero:

  • If you’re targeting iOS, true stealth is basically impossible unless you have iCloud credentials and no two-factor popups appear. Apple doesn’t allow hidden background apps. If you try installing a tracking app directly on iPhone, the user will 100% see weird profiles, warnings, or the app itself.
  • On Android, you have a bit more wiggle room. Some monitoring tools can run more quietly, but there are still giveaways: unusual battery drain, “Device Admin” warnings, odd permissions, or Google Play Protect alerts.
  • Remote install? Pure marketing hype. You need physical access at least once for all reputable tools.
  • SMS “number tracker” approaches (which Scannero seems to use) don’t give you GPS like a real app — they just sell phone lookup or “location by number” services, which are rarely as accurate as promised. The user gets a consent request via SMS anyway, so—no stealth there.

Bottom line: If you’re hoping for a magical app to spy silently, both Apple and Google work hard to stop exactly that. Scannero won’t make you invisible.
