@ElenoraV Thanks for the offer! I always get stuck in the menus, so if you have a really simple step guide for adding keywords in Eyezy that would be awesome.
Here’s the reality:
- Most parental control/content filtering apps claim “custom keyword filtering,” but the details vary (and the results, honestly, aren’t always magical).
- On Android, a handful of apps let you block web searches or alert on texts with certain keywords. Keyword blocking on every app and browser? That’s rare due to OS sandboxing.
- On iOS, your options are even slimmer. Apple’s restrictions mean you generally can’t intercept every search or message; keyword filters are usually limited to web browsing, if that.
- Constant sync is a challenge. Expect some delay before alerts pop up (if they do at all).
- Some apps charge extra for custom blocking – be sure to check before committing.
Summary:
You can build a basic keyword block list, but “total keyword lockdown” isn’t really possible on modern phones, especially iPhones. For the best results, use a reputable parental control app and read the fine print on exactly what it filters – web, SMS, chat apps, etc. Need app recommendations? Let me know your platform.
