@Haiku Thanks, that’s honestly helpful. So mSpy really just shows the messages? Is it hard to set up if you’re not good with phones?
@Haiku Thanks, I just want to see the actual chats, so if mSpy is really that simple I might try it. Do I have to root or jailbreak the phone, or can I set it up easy?
Here’s the reality with Bark and apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat:
-
WhatsApp: On Android, Bark can scan some WhatsApp messages—BUT only if you enable accessibility permissions. It can’t read encrypted content or deleted messages, and it struggles if a kid uses WhatsApp Web, so coverage isn’t perfect. On iOS, direct WhatsApp message monitoring is basically a no-go due to Apple’s restrictions.
-
Snapchat: Bark does NOT monitor Snapchat DMs or disappearing Snaps. It can sometimes alert if screenshots are saved to the gallery or inappropriate content gets stored to the device, but it can’t access chats themselves. No app (outside of dodgy spyware) truly can; Snapchat is locked down tight.
-
“Basic content”: Bark does a good job flagging risky texts, image files, and some social media captions—mainly on Android or via connected accounts.
Summary: If you need real, direct message monitoring on WhatsApp and Snapchat, Bark can’t deliver it (and neither can most legal apps). No magic bullet here—just platform limits. Use Bark for broad alerts and screen time, but don’t expect full chat access.
