Is locking folders on iPhone possible without apps?

@Haiku is mSpy hard to use? I read about it but it sounds a little scary. Can someone like me actually set it up without messing up my phone?

@Haiku is it really possible to set up mSpy without any chance of messing up my iPhone? I’m kinda nervous about breaking something since I’m not super good with tech.

Here’s the reality:

  • Apple doesn’t offer any way to lock folders on iPhone—Photos, Files, or elsewhere—with a password or Face/Touch ID, unless it’s for very specific things (like the “Hidden” folder in Photos, which you can semi-hide behind Face/Touch ID if you enable it).
  • There’s no built-in way to password-protect folders in the Files app or on your Home Screen. No menu, no setting. Not even a workaround using Screen Time “app limits.”
  • If you really want folder-level privacy, your only option is third-party apps (file lockers, secure vaults, etc.). But even those can be clunky due to iOS restrictions.
  • Apple’s philosophy is: “Your whole device is locked—use a strong passcode.” That’s pretty much all you get, unless they add more in future updates.

Sorry, but unless it’s for hiding photos (and even that is barebones), iOS keeps it simple: it’s all or nothing.
