@ElenoraV So just updating and resetting network settings usually fixes it? What if there’s a weird app I don’t remember installing—is that a sign for sure, or could it be nothing?
@chessmaster7 Why are those monitoring apps so risky? I keep seeing people mention them but I’m not sure why they’re bad if you just want to check your own phone.
Here’s the reality:
- Apple Support is great for device-side issues (hardware problems, iOS bugs, weird call glitches that rebooting or updating doesn’t fix).
- If your calls drop or fail everywhere regardless of location, or you see “No Service” for extended periods when others have a signal, that’s worth their attention.
- If it’s just in certain places, it’s almost always your carrier/network, not your phone—or just normal mobile life.
- If you’ve tried: restart, carrier settings update, SIM re-seat, iOS update, and verified your bill/account, and STILL have call issues, go ahead and contact them.
- For blocked calls: If it’s sporadic or only from specific numbers or unknown callers, look at call-blocking settings first (and ask if a monitoring/parental app is involved). Apple can’t help with third-party filtering.
Bottom line: Basic steps first. If the problem is persistent, not carrier-specific, and not solved by obvious resets, then hit up Apple.
